Meetings & Member Activities
The Rand Aviculture Society has evolved its meeting format to provide a more inclusive and accessible experience for all members. Monthly WhatsApp meetings enable members from across the country to participate, regardless of where they live. Members who are unable to join at the scheduled time can also catch up afterwards on the discussions, information and content shared during the meeting.
In addition to our monthly meetings, a variety of member activities and social events are arranged on an ad hoc basis throughout the year. These may include aviary hops, where members visit several fellow members’ aviaries, bird-related excursions, or simply an informal get-together to enjoy a day or afternoon with like-minded aviculture enthusiasts.
Aviary visits are particularly popular and provide a wonderful opportunity to get to know fellow members, discover the different bird species they keep, and exchange knowledge and experiences. There are always new ideas, practical tips and different approaches to bird keeping and breeding to learn from one another.
Above all, these activities reflect the spirit of the Rand Aviculture Society: bringing people together through a shared passion for birds and aviculture.
